Prototyping is used
to prove a concept.
We specialize in
short run prototype injection molding. We will construct a single
cavity hand operated mold from your drawing or cad file and present
you with 24 sample parts, molded in your choice of material.
Generally in 1 - 3 weeks.
The prototype options are as follows:
Stereolithography - This is a
computer generated model that can be manufactured usually in 1-2
Deposition Modeling - This is about
the same as SLA except that the materials are just a bit stronger.
Component - Starting with a raw
piece of polymer, the material is machined to its desired geometry.
- After manufacturing an SLA or FDM component,
a cast mold can be manufactured to injection mold or cast parts
Injection-molded - This is the
preferred system for proving out an injection molded design. The
single cavity tool is usually capable of producing 1,000 parts on
up, depending on the component geometry. Parts would also be molded
in any injection molded polymer of choice. Many things are learned,
and time-after-time has proven to be one of the most cost
effective. Many companies will use these parts for market tests and
validation since they will be the same as a production part.
Thermoformed - This option is good
for items where a consistent wall thickness is not a factor.
Thermoforming is very popular in the packaging field. We are
extremely competitive in the higher volume area. The machinery is
all high-speed, state of the art equipment. By the way, all of our
thermoform components are prototyped prior to production.
Stampings - We can manufacture
stamped metal parts with no tooling charge. Low volume (1, 2, 3, or
more). Delivery in most cases is less than a week. Due to
confidentiality all I can post is a picture of washers, which we
also manufacture at a very low cost.
